Michael's Dodge & Fargo Truck Fotos

Here is a circa 1979 Mexican Dodge pickup with an unusual extra long bed. It looks a lot like the 1957-66 Ford 9’ box except that the Ford fenders have more curve to them at the bottom (just behind the cab). Anybody know anything about these Mexican trucks?

I spent all of December down there and I don't think I saw anything but Toyotas! I'll look into this. It may be that Dodge sent the cab and chassis down there and a local company supplied the bed. Beds don't take too much technology to make.

Wow, Mexico has changed. My most recent visist were in 2000 and 1997 --virtually no Toyota of any sort then (but lots of Nissians). I remember seeing this Dodge design on several occations in Mexico City too.

I noticed that there weren't many really old trucks. Most seemed to by 1980s or newer. Same thing with the farm tractors. I expected to see a lot of 1940s and 1950s era tractors, but there were virtually none. I don't know why that would be.

More Dodge Truck photos.

A 1966/67 Dodge D-100 and a 1955 Ford C-600. Both trucks are still in regular use by Capital Plumbing in Olympia, Washington. Capital Plumbling also uses some other older trucks, but these are the oldest.

These pictures were taken at the Antique Truck Show in Shelton, Washington, August 2009. Great show.

These look like good candidates for our "Working Trucks" department. Any writer/photographers in your area? A good friend of mine had a truck that looked a lot like the '66. The top was mangled from the time he rolled it on some country road. He was always bragging about his "rolled and pleated exterior."
