Jeep’s Tornado of an Engine

The 230ci single overhead cam “Tornado” 6-cylinder Jeep engine that appears in the March/April 2012 issue of Vintage Truck magazine was the first modern mass-produced overhead cam engine in the United States. Chief engineer A.C. Sampietro and developmental engineer K.G. Matthews were called upon for the creation of this engine.
